Our Story

Built for the Next Generation of Matcha Menus

Song-yu was created to give cafés and foodservice teams a more dependable way to build and grow a matcha program. We bring together Guizhou-grown matcha, a direct producer relationship, U.S. inventory, and practical menu support so operators can buy with confidence - from the first sample to a multi-location rollout.

Consistency Comes From Structure

More predictable pricing is not simply a promise. It comes from how the supply chain is built.

Guizhou has a broad tea-growing base, an active tea workforce, and an expanding matcha industry. Our producer partner connects managed tea gardens with standardized processing, quality control, cold storage, and traceability. Fewer handoffs, planned production, and inventory held in the United States help us keep supply and pricing steadier as customer demand grows.

A Different Origin. A Distinct Profile.

Not every coffee menu should be built with beans from one single origin. We believe matcha deserves the same openness.

Guizhou matcha is not meant to imitate Japanese matcha. It has its own expression, and Song-yu selects for the qualities that matter behind the bar: color, tea presence, balance, and performance in lattes and specialty drinks.

Different does not mean better or worse. It means another origin, another profile, and another useful option for the menu.

Ready to Scale With You

Our producer partner operates large-scale, temperature-controlled storage for more than 5,000 metric tons of tencha, supported by standardized manufacturing and batch traceability. Around it, Guizhou is building toward more than 8,000 metric tons of annual matcha output by 2028.

For Song-yu customers, that depth supports repeatability today and room to grow tomorrow. From a single café to a regional rollout, our goal is simple: deliver matcha that performs consistently, arrives reliably, and makes sense for the business behind the cup.
